Center Bearing Support
A center bearing support (or carrier bearing) is a vital drivetrain component in vehicles with two-piece driveshafts (trucks, SUVs, RWD cars) that stabilizes the shaft, reduces vibrations, and ensures smooth power transfer from transmission to differential. It typically consists of a ball bearing enclosed in a rubber-cushioned metal bracket bolted to the chassis. The driveshaft intermediate support assembly is a key component of the automotive transmission system, mainly used to support long driveshafts and ensure smooth power transmission.

1. Main Components
Bearings: The core component, typically high-performance radial ball or roller bearings, pre-lubricated and sealed, allowing the driveshaft to rotate smoothly at high speeds.
Rubber Bushings/Isolation Sleeves: Enclose the outer ring of the bearing, providing flexible support, absorbing vibrations and shocks from the engine and chassis, and compensating for wheelbase changes and angular misalignments during vehicle operation.
Metal Housing/Bracket: Encloses the rubber bushings and has mounting holes for securing the assembly to the vehicle chassis or crossbeams.
2. Main Functions
Provides Additional Support: Bears the weight of the central part of the driveshaft, preventing excessive sagging due to its own weight, especially suitable for long-wheelbase vehicles (such as trucks, buses, and long-wheelbase sedans).
Reduces Vibration and Noise: Limits radial runout and wobble of the driveshaft, reducing vibration and abnormal noise during drivetrain operation, improving driving smoothness and comfort.
Protects Other Components: Prevents excessive vibration and bending stress from damaging components such as the gearbox output shaft bearing, differential input shaft bearing, and universal joints, extending their service life.
Maintaining the correct angle: Maintaining the relative position and angle between the various sections of the driveshaft ensures the universal joint operates within its efficient angle range.
3. Application:
Commercial Vehicles: Widely used in heavy-duty trucks, buses, etc., these vehicles have long driveshafts, requiring high levels of support and vibration damping from the intermediate support assembly. Brands for replacement available: Ford, International Truck, GMC, Volvo, Isuzu, Hino, JAC, Mitsubishi
Some Passenger Vehicles: Some long-wheelbase sedans or high-performance models also utilize driveshaft intermediate support assemblies to optimize the stability and comfort of the transmission system.Brands for replacement available: Ford,Buick, Chevrolet, Nissan, Isuzu, Toyota, Honda, Kia, Hyundai, Geely, JAC
